STAFF RESIDENTIAL QUARTERS

Each staff member decorates his or her own office to fit their own needs. Student usually don't come here unless it is an emergency, but if a staff member isn't in their office, classroom, or the lounge then they may be found here [/b][/size]

HEAD'S OFFICE
[/b][/center][/size]
The entrance to the headmaster's (or headmistress', depending on the era in question) office at Hogwarts is behind a statue of a gargoyle on the seventh floor. When given the proper password, the gargoyle will leap aside, and the wall behind it will split in two to reveal a spiral stone staircase that moves like an escalator.
Once in the door, visitors ride on a spiral stone staircase that moves slowly upward as the gargoyle's entrance closes behind them. The staircase leads to a highly polished oak door with a brass knocker in the shape of a griffin.
The walls of the office are covered with portraits of previous Headmasters and Headmistresses. The wall immediately behind the Headmaster's desk has a shelf holding the Sorting Hat. Gryffindor's sword is kept in a glass case beside the Sorting Hat. Another wall of the office holds a fireplace that can be connected to the Floo Network when needed. [/b][/size]

OWLERY
[/b][/center][/size]
The Owlery, where the school owls and the owls belonging to students live, is located on the top of West Tower.
The Owlery is a circular stone room, rather cold and drafty, because none of the windows have glass in them. The floor is entirely covered in straw, owl droppings, and the regurgitated skeletons of mice and voles. Hundreds upon hundreds of owls of every breed imaginable are nestled here on perches that rise right up to the top of the tower.
